3 worst-case scenarios for the Ravens in 2020

The Baltimore Ravens were more than just the NFL’s regular-season champs in 2019– they were the most complete team in the league, efficient on both offense and defense and on a collision course straight for the Super Bowl… until they weren’t.

Baltimore ultimately fell short of expectations last season, but with 14 wins and the reigning league MVP on their side, there’s no doubt they’re a team that’s right on the verge of playing for a championship. And not only will they be running it back with a lot of the players and coaches that got the Ravens as far as they made it in 2019, but they actually improved in a few areas as well.

The offseason was kind to Baltimore. Veterans like Calais Campbell and Michael Brockers will be suiting up for the Ravens in 2020, with talented rookies like Patrick Queen and J.K. Dobbins joining them. They almost look unbeatable… but no NFL team is bulletproof.

The Ravens are going to be one of the favorites to make Super Bowl 55 as we get closer to the season, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t reasons Baltimore could fail to live up to expectations. So let’s look at a few doomsday scenarios that could ultimately sink the Ravens’ chances at making the Super Bowl– or even the playoffs.
