Ravens Named Best Fit For Odell Beckham Jr. In NFL Free Agency

The Baltimore Ravens need to figure out what they are doing at the quarterback position. Lamar Jackson remains in limbo and his backup, Tyler Huntley, is a restricted free agent. One of them will likely be back as the starter in 2023, but the situation is a messy one.

Regardless of who is under center, though, this is a team lacking weapons in the passing game. Tight end Mark Andrews is an elite player, but Baltimore has ignored the wide receiver position for far too long. They reached new lows during the 2022 NFL Draft when they traded Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals.

The team had hopes that Rashod Bateman could slide into the No. 1 receiver role, but he has been unable to stay healthy. Demarcus Robinson ended up leading the team in receptions and yardage at wide receiver, as the team needs an upgrade.

Free agency is light on wide receivers this offseason, but the Ravens can still find a player that would help. Odell Beckham Jr. remains unsigned and according to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, the Ravens would be a great fit for him.

Beckham is reportedly looking for a lot of money and his options have dried up quickly. The Dallas Cowboys traded for Brandin Cooks while the New York Giants signed Parris Campbell in addition to bringing back Sterling Shepard. The Los Angeles Rams, his most recent team, is rebuilding and while he has been connected to the Kansas City Chiefs, they may be better off giving their younger players opportunities.

The New York Jets are another team that has been linked to him because he is reportedly someone Aaron Rodgers would like to play with. But, they recently added Mecole Hardman and likely aren’t a realistic landing spot.

Baltimore would be able to pay Beckham a decent amount of money while providing him a nice-sized role in their passing game. He would be, at worst, the No. 2 wide receiver behind Bateman, and third in the pecking order with Andrews at the top.

While he isn’t the same player he was before some lower body injuries began occurring, Beckham can still help a team. He proved that with the Rams at the end of the 2021 season before suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl. All he needs is an opportunity and he would be able to showcase it once again.
