Ravens QB Lamar Jackson speaks out on possible Dez Bryant signing

The Baltimore Ravens came up short in the NFL playoffs for the second straight season in the Lamar Jackson era. They could look to add more help to get over the hump in the form of free-agent wideout Dez Bryant.

As first reported by NFL Network, the Ravens brought in Bryant recently for a workout to help gather information before potentially signing the wideout. This isn’t the first time both sides have been connected with each other in reports.

The reigning NFL MVP, Lamar Jackson, was asked about the possibility of the Ravens signing Bryant–making it clear he’s noticed the former Dallas Cowboys star has looked ‘pretty good’ running routes on social media.

“It’s up to the front office,” Jackson said. “Dez is on Instagram running routes and he’s looking pretty good on social media. If the front office likes him, we’ll have to see what he gives you.”

Bryant has made it clear he is serious about making a return to the NFL. He has spent the offseason preparing to show teams he can still make an impact. He even ran routes for quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes at different points in the offseason.

For the Ravens, they surely could benefit from adding another contributing wide receiver talent to their roster. Marquise Brown is set to fill the No. 1 role with supporting talents like Willie Snead IV and Miles Boykin serving as complements.

Having as high powered of a passing attack as possible is important for the Ravens considering the Kansas City Chiefs will look to defend their Super Bowl title in 2020. Adding whichever of the Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon, and Bryant group that’s most reliable makes the most sense.

For Dez Bryant, he doesn’t bring the off-field concerns the other two come with. The risk associated with him lies in the injury department. He almost immediately suffered a major injury after taking the field with the New Orleans Saints in practice.
