As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for the upcoming NFL offseason, their main goal will be to fix the issues that caused their brutal late-season collapse. After spending most of the season as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, the Eagles fell hard down the stretch and lost in the Wild Card round of the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Looking at what needs to be fixed, there are some needs on both sides of the football. For one, the Eagles could use a third wide receiver to compliment and take pressure off of AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.
According to one league source, they are going to be in the market for a quality free agent wide receiver. One name to keep a close eye on will be Cincinnati Bengals’ impending free agent wideout Tyler Boyd.
“I think the Eagles are already looking into the free agency options at wide receiver. A name I’ve heard connected to them is Tyler Boyd. They’re already doing research on him from what I’ve been told.”
Boyd would certainly be the kind of impact player that could take Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense to the next level.
During the 2023 season with the Bengals, Boyd racked up 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns. His numbers may not look great, but he was also playing third fiddle behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. As a No. 3 option, those numbers are impressive.
At 29 years of age, Boyd will be searching for his best chance to win a Super Bowl. The Eagles could very well offer him that.
There are plenty of other options that the Eagles could look into as well. However, Boyd appears to be one that they’re especially interested in. He could be the missing piece for Philadelphia’s offense.
