The Philadelphia Eagles are currently the last undefeated team in the NFL with a 6-0 record. While they have looked great so far this season, they are still looking to make moves to improve their roster. Prior to the Carolina Panthers trading Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles tried to make a move for the star running back.

McCaffrey obviously ended up with the 49ers as previously mentioned, but what a move this would have been for the Eagles. He would have taken that offense to an even higher level. Unfortunately, the move didn’t end up happening.

According to NFL Rumors on Twitter, the Eagles and Denver Broncos were two of the teams in addition to the 49ers trying to trade for McCaffrey.

In Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, McCaffrey made his debut for the 49ers. While San Francisco got blown out by the Chiefs, McCaffrey had a decent all-around performance. He rushed for 38 yards on eight carries and also caught two passes for 24 years on a short week without having much time to learn the playbook.

While the Eagles may not have pulled off a trade for McCaffrey, this is a clear sign that they are going to be looking to make moves when they present themselves. The Eagles are all-in to compete for a Super Bowl this season. With the NFC looking weaker than ever, they are playing their cards the right way.

It will be interesting to monitor what the Eagles try to do ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Christian McCaffrey would have been a huge impact player, but there are other names on the market as well. Perhaps the Eagles could consider looking into a trade for Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt.

Expect to continue hearing more news and rumors come out surrounding the NFL trade market. The Eagles may or may not dip their toes into the market again, but this piece of news was certainly intriguing, to say the least.
