Richard Sherman Makes Bold Comments About Bengals’ Joe Burrow

The NFL just witnessed an end of an era in 2021 with two legendary quarterbacks riding off into retirement. Pittsburgh Steelers great Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady are both riding off into the sunset and beginning the fitting for their gold jackets at the Hall of Fame. As the old superstars go out, new superstars are coming in like Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Richard Sherman has taken notice.

Those two were the last of the group including Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers to retire, as they are now passing the torch onto some great young quarterbacks that are currently taking off in the NFL.

The league will certainly be in good hands under center, as exciting players are littered around the league. Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson already have MVP awards. Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, Kyler Murray and Joe Burrow look like they will be in the running for years for the MVP as well.

They are going to give defenses headaches for years to come as they are all as dangerous with their legs as they are with their arms. This is the era of dual-threat quarterbacks and we are going to see some eye-popping, video-game-like stats in the coming years. With a 17-game season, plenty of records are going to fall by the time this new crop of quarterbacks is ready to call it a career.

Any franchise that has one of those guys locked in as their franchise quarterback is lucky. They should experience plenty of success in the coming years. For fans, there will be a healthy debate about which quarterback you would want your team to have.

Richard Sherman discussed that on a recent episode of The Richard Sherman Podcast. He is going with Burrow for the next decade, and Bengals fans would definitely agree.

Burrow has led the Cincinnati Bengals on an improbable run to the Super Bowl this year, his second in the NFL. They will face off with the Los Angeles Rams, who have a quarterback of their own in Matthew Stafford who plenty of people will be rooting for.

With the talent around him, Burrow will likely be in the running for the MVP award for years to come. A running game led by Joe Mixon and one of the best wide receiver trios in the NFL with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd is a quarterback’s dream.

You cannot forget that Burrow is accomplishing all of this behind arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL. If they can better protect him in years to come, the rest of the NFL better watch out.
