There are a ton of great matchups this weekend in the NFL as the Divisional Round of the postseason gets underway. However, arguably the one that people are most excited to see is the Buffalo Bills traveling to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
This game will pit two of the great young quarterbacks in the league against each other in Josh Allen for the Bills and Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs. Both had monster performances in their Wild Card games.
Allen tore up the New England Patriots, leading the Bills offense to a perfect game. They scored a touchdown on all seven possessions, and Allen was responsible for five of them. He added 308 yards through the air and 66 on the ground. Mahomes threw five touchdowns of his own against the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 404 yards.
This matchup between the Bills and Chiefs is so highly anticipated that players from other teams around the league are weighing in. One of them is Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback, Richard Sherman.
Sherman is out for the remainder of the season because of an Achilles injury. He originally injured his calf during warmups against the Bills in Week 10 but injured his Achilles in mid-December.
Sherman is one of many injuries that the Buccaneers have endured in their defensive backfield this season. That has not slowed them down, as they could very well be on a collision course with the Bills or Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
The Buccaneers and Chiefs faced off in last year’s Super Bowl, but Sherman isn’t expecting a rematch. That is because he believes the Bills are going to pull off the upset at Arrowhead Stadium this weekend. He shared his prediction on his podcast.
That would be a huge statement for Allen and the Bills to knock off the Chiefs this weekend and advance to the AFC Championship game. It would snap Kansas City’s streak of playing in the championship game, as they have participated three consecutive years.
