Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills are in turmoil. They have gone from potential Super Bowl contenders to a dismal 5-5 record in a matter of less than three months, and their stunning, self-inflicted two-point loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday was their latest setback in a season defined by them.

They have lost multiple key defensive players to injury, quarterback Josh Allen has been turnover-prone and star wide receiver Stefon Diggs has hinted at some discontent between him and the team in recent months. In fact, some, including Trevon Diggs, Stefon Diggs’ brother, are now saying the team should trade the wideout this offseason and cut its losses.

Legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski says that there must be “some serious beef” between Stefon Diggs and the Bills while opining that he won’t be a member of the team past this season.

“It doesn’t make sense,” Gronkowski said. “… You were in the possibility of winning, the last three years, of contending for a Super Bowl. You know how hard it is to be on a contending team year in and year out? I don’t know what the problem is with Stefon Diggs. I don’t know why his brother’s tweeting that out like that.

“I think there’s some serious beef behind it if his brother is tweeting that. … If you ask me, there’s been smoke, there’s been fire for the last two years about Stefon Diggs. I don’t think he’s going to be there after this year with the Buffalo Bills.”

NFL News & Rumors: Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills Updates

In his four seasons in Buffalo, Stefon Diggs has been an absolute stud. he has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons, as well as the All-Pro First Team in 2020 when he led the NFL in receiving yards. Ever since the trade that brought him to town in 2020, he has played at a higher level than he ever played at in five previous seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

But ever since last season’s divisional-round playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, he has seemed unhappy about something. There were rumors that the source of his beef was Allen, but Allen has denied this every time it has come up.

If there is indeed tension between Stefon Diggs and the Bills, the Bills need to look to resolve it, as he is only 29 years of age and in his absolute prime. He has collected 868 yards, which is fifth in the NFL, and seven touchdowns, which is second, so far this season, and he leads everyone with 73 receptions.

But sometimes, when a relationship is toxic, it cannot be fixed. If that is the scenario between him and the Bills, then perhaps Gronkowski will turn out to be a soothsayer when it comes to his future with them.
