Rob Gronkowski is one of many free agents that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to attempt to re-sign this offseason. However, his situation is a unique one given the relationship that he had with Tom Brady. Could he end up with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams?

With Brady announcing his retirement, there is a chance that Gronkowski rides back off into the sunset. The future Hall of Famer was retired for one season before being coaxed out of retirement to join Brady in Tampa Bay for one last run.

It resulted in another Super Bowl ring as the Buccaneers won the first year Brady and Gronkowski teamed back up. While their second season in Tampa Bay didn’t end with another ring, Gronkowski showed that he still has something left in the tank if he wanted to continue his career.

Gronkowski has never played with another quarterback other than Brady and there is a chance he wants to keep it that way. But, if he wanted to continue playing, there are plenty of teams that would line up to sign him.

Gronkowski has made a ton of money from playing already and makes even more from endorsements and things he does off the field. So, If he returns for at least one more season, money likely won’t play a huge part. He would be doing it for the love of the game and to try winning another Super Bowl with a contending team.

Given his celebrity status off the field, why not combine the best of both worlds? Over at Sportsnaut, that is what they believe will occur as Gronkowski will sign a one-year deal with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams would be a great landing spot for Gronkowski on and off the field. Los Angeles is a star-studded town and he would fit right in there. On the field, Sean McVay is arguably the brightest offensive mind in the game. He would certainly find a way for Gronkowski to impact the game alongside Tyler Higbee at the tight end position.

If the team is unable to retain Odell Beckham Jr., they could opt to deploy more two tight end sets, at least until Robert Woods is healthy enough to return following a torn ACL suffered during practice leading up to a Week 10 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

Gronkowski would present the team with another red-zone option along with Cooper Kupp and provide Matthew Stafford with someone that can win in the middle of the field and up the seam. Although he is going on 33-years old, Gronkowski is still a matchup nightmare with his size despite losing a step or two of athleticism.
