The Philadelphia Eagles have been looking to make some moves to improve their roster and it appears they may be targeting wide receiver Allen Robinson. Amid a contract dispute with the Chicago Bears, Robinson has requested to be traded. It is a situation to monitor closely.
Rumor has it that the Eagles are interested in acquiring the wideout from the Bears. It’s just speculation and rumor at this point in time, but it would make sense.
Robinson has been one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league over the last couple of years. He certainly has not had it easy in Chicago playing with Mitchell Trubisky. A change of scenery could do him good.
If he was traded to the Eagles, Robinson would be given the best quarterback he has ever played with. Carson Wentz is also one of the most underrated players in the NFL.
During the 2019 season with the Bears, Robinson racked up 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. In Week 1 this year, Robinson caught five passes for 74 yards in Chicago’s win over the Detroit Lions.
What the Eagles would have to give up in return would be the question. Perhaps Alshon Jeffery could return to the Bears where he began his career? Maybe a mid-round pick would be enough to get the deal done?
No matter what the price tag is, the Eagles should absolutely pursue a deal. Robinson would be an excellent addition and would help take the offense to the next level.
Other teams like the New England Patriots have also been rumored to have interest in trading for Robinson.
Expect to hear a lot more about Allen Robinson in the coming hours and days. It appears that his days with the Bears may be numbered and don’t be shocked if the Eagles make an aggressive run at trading for him.
