RUMOR: Odell Beckham Jr. likely to be traded by Browns, former NFL player says

The Cleveland Browns made a major free agency move by signing tight end Austin Hooper to a big contract. Now, it appears they may not be done making major moves. Odell Beckham Jr. could be on the trade block.

According to former NFL linebacker Bart Scott, the Browns are likely to trade Beckham this offseason.

“Just know you heard it here first,” Scott said. “I’m telling you right now, Odell Beckham is on the trading block and it’s real right now.”

Needless to say, this adds even more intrigue to what has already been a crazy NFL offseason. Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, DeAndre Hopkins was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, and now Beckham could be on the move for the second offseason in a row.

Beckham underwhelmed during his first season with the Browns in 2019. He caught 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers may not look bad, but they certainly aren’t up to par with what we have come to expect from him.

With four years left on his deal at a very affordable price, there are going to be quite a few teams interested in acquiring Beckham if he is on the trade block. One of those teams could be the Green Bay Packers, who have been linked to Beckham since early on in the offseason.

It will be interesting to see what the Browns end up doing. Trading Beckham would make a lot of sense with Jarvis Landry already on the roster and capable of being the No. 1 receiver. Hooper will provide major production, which makes Beckham available at the right price.

Expect to hear more rumors and reports come out about Beckham and a potential trade in the near future. It may not end up happening, but this is something to keep a close eye on.
