RUMOR: Vikings, Browns may be discussing Odell Beckham Jr. trade

The Minnesota Vikings made the decision to trade star wide receiver Stefon Diggs earlier this season. While that move has worried some about the team’s offense, they may be looking to make another big move at the position.

According to a report from WFAN’s Marc Malusis, the Vikings and Cleveland Browns are discussing a blockbuster trade centered around Odell Beckham Jr.

Minnesota giving up a second and fifth-round pick would be a massive steal for the Vikings. It would allow them to pair Adam Thielen and Beckham for star quarterback Kirk Cousins to work with. That duo would be nearly impossible to stop.

Why would the Browns make this move? Quite simply, Beckham didn’t fit with them last season and his attitude was a major distraction. They are open to running it back with him, but if the right offer comes along, they likely would take it.

Last season with the Browns, Beckham ended up catching 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers were not what fans were expecting from him. Being traded to the Vikings would be yet another new system to learn, but there is no question that it would be a good fit.

It will be interesting to see if there is any truth behind this report. Anyone can throw a report out there, but many times they aren’t real.

However, this is something to keep an eye on. There were rumors just a couple weeks ago that Beckham was available via trade. Don’t get your hopes up Vikings fans, but don’t just dismiss this rumor either.

Expect to hear plenty more rumors about potential trades as the 2020 NFL Draft continues to draw closer. Beckham may very well be on the trade block and the Vikings would be an intriguing landing spot.
