Saints: 4 Reasons New Orleans Is Off to a Slow Start in 2018

Alvin Kamara Needs to Make More Plays

It seemed like each and every week the Saints saw Alvin Kamara make big play after big play last season. He was quite possibly the most lethal big-play threat in the entire NFL. That hasn’t been the case so far this season in the starting role.

Part of that has to do with the first point on this list. Mark Ingram opened quite a few doors for Kamara. Payton also hasn’t found ways to put his young running back in the best position to succeed.

New Orleans needs Kamara to get back to his playmaking ways moving forward. If he can break off a big play or two each game, that will take a lot of pressure off of Drew Brees and will allow the Saints’ offense to get back to running how it normally does.

That’s a lot to ask, but Kamara is more than talented enough to rise to the occasion.
