Saints: 5 Reasons New Orleans will Win Super Bowl LIII

Mark J. Rebilas-USA Today Sports

No. 5: Sean Payton and Drew Brees

The first and most obvious reason why the Saints can win the Super Bowl is because of their leadership. Drew Brees at quarterback and Sean Payton at head coach provide leadership and stability for both the team and the entire organization.

Most teams should be envious of such a long quarterback-head coach relationship.

Since Brees and Payton have been together, they have won over 100 games and a Super Bowl ring to boot. The success these two have together have always made the Saints scary to play, particularly the offense. The tandem of Brees and Payton have only struggled in their tenure together when the Saints had one of the worst defenses in the league.

Now that the Saints are more balanced and more of a complete team, they’re even dangerous. Great coaching and great quarterback play are keys to winning a championship in the NFL.
