No. 1: Potential NFL-best offense
In addition to the leadership Drew Brees brings, as mentioned earlier, he also brings his Hall of Fame skill set. Along with Brees’ skill set comes the support of offense weapons at his disposal. This offense can run and pass efficiently, which causes defenses major problems.
New Orleans could easily have the No. 1 offense in the NFL this season. Although, for the first four games the Saints will miss running back Mark Ingram (suspension), Alvin Kamara’s presence should help alleviate the absence.
Once Ingram returns from suspension, that’s when the offense will return to being its most explosive. The tandem of Ingram and Kamara will once again give defense issues. While Brees can connect with his main target in wide receiver Michael Thomas, who is likely to have a breakout season.
Speedster Ted Ginn is also a threat to catch long touchdown pass from Brees at any point during the game. New Orleans also brought in a young stud in free agency, Cameron Meredith, who could be vital if he is able to stay healthy.
Offense has always been a staple in New Orleans. Brees and Sean Payton are expected to score over 20 points every game. With established stars at running back and wide receiver, the Saints should finish in the top three in total offense once again this season.
Pair that with the defense, and one should easily understand why this team can reach the Super Bowl.
