Heading into Week 3, the San Francisco 49ers are in need of coming through with a major road win as they prepare to take on Pat Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are on the rise in their respective conference, although there are still some major question marks surrounding the 49ers.
Jimmy Garoppolo and company know that this game is an important one for them. At 1-1, they are well aware of the strength that their own division leader has been showing. The Los Angeles Rams are by far the best team in the NFC West and the division likely will end up being won by them easily.
Battling for a Wild Card spot in the NFC is not going to be easy this season. There are plenty of teams that are vying for that position and some tough wins are going to be needed to earn one of those spots.
Kansas City has been one of the biggest surprises so far of the young season. Mahomes has gotten off to one of the hottest starts in NFL history for a first-year starter. He has already thrown 10 touchdowns and has not made many mistakes.
San Francisco has to focus on forcing the young quarterback to make quick decisions. If they can rattle him a bit, things are going to be much easier.
That being said, what three key matchups do the 49ers need to focus on winning this week against the Chiefs?
