Alfred Morris and Matt Breida Against the Chiefs’ D-Line

There are very few questions about Jimmy Garoppolo and the kind of production that he can put up for the 49ers. Kansas City’s passing defense is dead last in the NFL, which means that Garoppolo has a good chance for a big day. On the other side of things, the 49ers still need to establish a running game.

Kansas City is ranked No. 10 against the run this season. Alfred Morris and Matt Breida have formed a decent dual-threat backfield for the 49ers.

Shanahan and company will need to establish the ground game early on. Morris has been unable to get himself going this season, which has given Breida even more opportunity. Both players need to be solid this week.

If the ground game can force the Chiefs to stay honest, Garoppolo should have a massive performance.
