San Francisco 49ers: 3 Players Primed for Breakout Seasons in 2018

Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Jimmy Garoppolo, Quarterback

Who is honestly surprised that Jimmy Garoppolo has to be included on this list? More than likely, none of you reading are surprised to see his name come up. That being said, he certainly has to be included, even if it is obvious that he belongs.

Garoppolo had an impressive first six games with the 49ers. He was able to lead San Francisco to five straight wins and completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 1,560 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions. Those numbers are a good start, but his 2018 season will make them look like nothing.

San Francisco’s offense is going to be geared around Garoppolo’s arm. Learning from Tom Brady has prepared Garoppolo for this moment and he will not allow the moment to pass him by.

Expecting at least 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns is a reasonable goal for Garoppolo. San Francisco finally has their franchise quarterback and he will show that acquiring him was the right decision.
