The 49ers Will Make It Into the Playoffs Through the Wild Card
The 49ers are already the hottest team in football with their five-game winning streak going into 2018. They have an offensive identity to go along with a young and hungry defensive unit with a lot of talent.
However, don’t expect them to win out the NFC West this season.
Yes, the Seahawks have lost a lot of talent that has made them a perennial playoff favorite. But, Seattle still has an offense that can produce with Russell Wilson at quarterback and a defense manned by Bobby Wagner.
The Cardinals are in a rebuilding mode after the retirements of their former head coach and starting quarterback. Then again, Josh Rosen and Steve Wilks aren’t a sign of regression either. Both are big pickups for that team.
Finally, the Rams are putting all of their eggs into one basket with essentially making a Dream Team This doesn’t always work (example: 2011 Philadelphia Eagles). Plus, the best defensive player in the league, Aaron Donald is still holding out. But the talent around this team is too much to disregard their impact on the division.
As of now, it’s the Rams’ division and everyone is trying to catch up. They have one of the best young teams in the league and the brightest head coach in the league to go with it.
Fortunately enough, the 49ers have improved with Los Angeles as well.
With the looks of the schedule and the strength of the teams San Francisco will be facing, the team can realistically go 10-6 and make a Wild Card appearance in the playoffs. And, for an extra bold prediction, I see them winning the wild card game and making it to the divisional round.
