San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel has put together back-to-back monster performances, and following Sunday’s win over the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Kyle Shanahan raved about his star pass-catcher.

“It’s been very good,” Shanahan said when asked about his impression of Samuel this season, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “We’re not done yet, so there’s a lot more football to play, so we’ll see at the end of the year. But I thought Deebo came into this season very ready to go.”

Samuel’s campaign got off to a topsy-turvy start, as he went without a catch in Week 4 and then suffered a shoulder injury in Week 6 that knocked him out of Weeks 7 and 8.

Since his return, Samuel has looked great and has really started hitting his stride recently. However, Shanahan has thought the 27-year-old has been terrific all season long.

“I thought he was looking really good those first couple weeks,” added Shanahan. “He didn’t have all the stats to show it, but that was just the way the ball went, but he was really ready to go. Then he had a huge setback with his injuries which took him a while to get back from him and when he did, it still took some time to get back in the football shape. But starting a few weeks ago you could see it and I think he’s at the top of his game right now.”

Samuel logged seven catches for 149 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks. Last week, he managed four grabs for 116 yards and a couple of scores in a blowout win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

On the season overall, the wide out has caught 45 passes for 739 yards while reaching the end zone four times in 11 games.

Deebo Samuel, who played his collegiate football at the University of South Carolina, was selected by the 49ers in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as well as a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2021 after hauling in 77 receptions for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns.

San Francisco 10-3 on the year and will take on the Arizona Cardinals next weekend.
