K.J. Wright
K.J. Wright is a very good linebacker, there’s no denying that. But the Seahawks have stockpiled on linebackers the last two seasons and clearly hope one of them becomes Wright’s replacement.
In 2019, the Seahawks drafted Cody Barton and Ben Burr-Kiven. They followed that up with using their first-round pick on Jordyn Brooks in 2020.
It makes sense to trade Wright because the Seahawks would save around $6.5 million in cap. Not only that, but he brings a good amount of trade value with that, and the Seahawks could see a good return for Wright.
While yes, the Seahawks don’t know whether Brooks, Barton or Burr-Kiven will be up to Wright’s playing ability, if any of them flash the potential, Seattle could go with the cheaper option and use Wright as bait.
