Can Still Perform in Short-Yardage Situations
The biggest reason that any team should look to sign a player for a season is that the player can still perform. Beast Mode showed us last year that he is still able to compete and produce at a high level, when put in the right situations.
Last year the Seahawks brought back Lynch to play in the final game of the season and their playoff run. In just three games on the year Lynch scored 4 touchdowns and accounted for 5 more first downs. Before comparing that to other players, Lynch was not the primary back and was instead used in short yardage situations.
Lynch scored a touchdown or earned a first down on almost 30% which is an impressive number for a short-yardage man. Add in the help he was able to provide in the receiving game during the playoffs and he is a valuable asset to a team as their short-yardage bruiser.
He may not have lead back productivity left in the tank, but he would be an upgrade for the Seahawks at the back end of their depth chart.
