Seahawks LB Shaquem Griffin is certainly on the roster bubble this season

The Seattle Seahawks are heading into a very intriguing season with quite a few not having any idea what to expect. After a very strange offseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no one truly knows how the entire season will unfold.

However, with training camp coming up quickly, there are some players who are going to be fighting for their roster spots. Among them is third-year linebacker Shaquem Griffin. He may have a very long fight ahead of him to make the roster.

According to a report from Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Griffin is on the roster bubble this offseason and may not end up making the team.

I’m assuming the question here is about Shaquem Griffin, the third-year linebacker and fifth-round pick out of Central Florida in 2018. As I noted in a recent roster projection, Griffin does indeed loom as one of the more intriguing “bubble” players in camp this year.

Last season, Griffin ended up playing in all 16 games, but he didn’t make much of an impact at all. He recorded just five total tackles on the season.

At just 24 years of age, there is still time for Griffin to turn his career around with the Seahawks. He has a lot of talent, but he has yet to put it all together. Griffin must come through with an impressive showing in training camp to earn another year in Seattle.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening when final roster cuts come around for the Seahawks. Griffin may not end up making the cut. Only time will tell us the answer to that question.

If he does end up being released, he should be able to find a new job before the season. Teams will take a chance on the potential that he has.

Hopefully, he will simply be able to figure things out and join the Seahawks for another season.
