Seahawks, Packers named trade destinations for Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. has been mentioned in trade rumors over the last year, but the Cleveland Browns have yet to pull the trigger on a deal. Despite their hesitance to trade the star wide receiver, there is a chance they could change their mind. If they do, both the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks could be potential landing spots.

Stephen A. Smith made it clear that the Packers and Seahawks would be the best landing spots. He opened up about his thoughts on the matter on First Take.

“I want him in Green Bay, Max [Kellerman], or I want him in Seattle. Those are the two places that I want Odell Beckham Jr. One or the other, Green Bay or Seattle, get him the hell out of Cleveland. He deserves our support. All of us, period.”

Obviously, this is not a “report” that the Packers and Seahawks are interested in trading for Beckham. However, it does make things intriguing to think about.

In the first six games of the 2020 NFL season with the Browns, Beckham has caught 23 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns. He has had some bright spots, but has also had the frustrating games that Cleveland has become used to.

Sending him to either the Packers or Seahawks would give Beckham the opportunity to play with one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Both teams also have strong locker rooms. Their culture would do Beckham good.

Both the Packers and Seahawks could also give Odell Beckham Jr. a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. Bringing out the competitive drive in him could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.

Expect to continue hearing rumors and speculation about Beckham and a potential trade as the NFL trade deadline draws closer. The Packers and Seahawks may not have interest in trading for him, but both teams make sense as potential suitors.
