Seahawks Rookie WR DK Metcalf Looking To Make NFL History vs. Packers

As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to face off against the Green Bay Packers this week in their Divisional Round playoff matchup, rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf has a chance to make NFL history. After dropping to the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Metcalf has been proving teams wrong for passing on him.

Heading into this week’s game, Metcalf has a chance to put his name in the NFL record books. According to Andy Patton of Seahawks Wire, Metcalf has a chance to pass Torry Holt for the most rookie playoff receiving yards if he racks up 83 receiving yards.

Needless to say, reaching that record would be huge for Metcalf. He has shown off the ability to run a full route tree this season and to use his big body and athletic ability to shred opposing defenses.

In his playoff debut last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, Metcalf ended up catching seven passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. He has become Russell Wilson’s go-to target late in the season. Tyler Lockett has provided the Seahawks with an excellent one-two punch.

Metcalf has big-time potential for the future. The Seahawks got themselves a true No. 1 receiver with the former Ole Miss star. Against the Packers, you can assume that they will look to Metcalf early and often.

Expect to see Metcalf make a strong run at breaking this record. He is quickly becoming one of the brightest young talents on the offensive side of the football in the NFL.
