If people thought the quarterback carousel during the 2021 NFL offseason was a wild ride, this year we could see even more movement at the position. Numerous teams could be in the market for a new signal-caller and a few of those teams could become legitimate title contenders depending on how big of a move they make. One of those could be the Seattle Seahawks.

One of the more surprising teams that could be in the market for a quarterback is the Miami Dolphins. Their fans spent an entire season hoping that the team would tank to have the chance to select Tua Tagovailoa when he was coming out of Alabama in 2020.

Those fans got their wish but the quarterback selected after him, Justin Herbert with the Los Angeles Chargers, has performed at a higher level. That has seemingly irked Dolphins management who explored bringing in a veteran signal-caller in 2021 despite a promising rookie season from Tagovailoa.

For the second offseason in a row, the Dolphins look ready to make a move at the quarterback position again should the opportunity arise. Deshaun Watson has been a popular name to end up with the Dolphins, as Tagovailoa could be used as part of the return package to the Houston Texans.

Another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Tagovailoa is the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle could have a need at the quarterback position if they part ways with their long-time starter, Russell Wilson. There was some talk of Wilson being traded last offseason, as a list of teams he would like to be traded to was revealed.

Miami wasn’t on Wilson’s list, but Tagovailoa could very well be on the Seahawks’ list of potential replacements for Wilson should he be traded away. The No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft doesn’t have eye-popping statistics, but he is a winner.

He won a ton collegiately at Alabama and has been successful with the Dolphins, going 13-8 in his first two seasons. There have been a few hiccups, but overall, Tagovailoa has been solid despite Miami’s persistent efforts to move on from him.

With the offensive philosophy that Pete Carroll has with the Seahawks, Tagovailoa could be an excellent fit. Seattle is a run-heavy team, which would fit his skill set.

Tagovailoa has looked more the part of a high-upside game manager than a big-time playmaker. In Seattle, that style of play, as he is extremely efficient, would play well. He would also have one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL to count on in D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to throw the ball to.
