Seattle Seahawks: 3 Players Primed for a Breakout Season in 2018

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Tyler Lockett, Wide Receiver

If there is one offensive player that fans in Seattle are hoping to see develop into his full potential, it would be wide receiver Tyler Lockett. He was drafted with the No. 69 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and the expectations were high for him right off the bat. Lockett has incredible speed, but he hasn’t been able to put everything together.

Last season with the Seahawks, Lockett showed flashes with 45 receptions for 555 yards and two touchdowns. He has also been a threat for the Seahawks in the return game.

At 25 years old, the timing has never been better for Lockett to break out. He will likely be utilized as a slot receiver between Doug Baldwin and Brandon Marshall, which will fit him well. Lockett will be able to focus on making plays in the open field across the middle, as well as being a deep threat for Russell Wilson.

Carroll and company have to figure out a way to unlock Lockett’s full skill-set. If Lockett can take the leap forward that many are hoping for, the Seattle offense is going to be difficult to stop.
