Shannon Sharpe reveals his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers’ MVP case

Following yet another stellar campaign from Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, many believe he is on track to win yet another MVP award. Rodgers has led the Packers to the No. 1 seed in the NFC and Green Bay is currently considered the best team in the NFC by most. However, there are some debating whether or not he will actually end up winning the prestigious MVP award.

Other candidates have made a strong case as well, including Tom Brady, Jonathan Taylor, and Cooper Kupp. Some MVP voters, like Hub Arkush, have already stated that they will not vote for Rodgers.

Despite the debates and confusion, NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe has come out and revealed his thoughts on Rodgers’ case for the MVP award.

“With what Aaron Rodgers has done and the body of work he’s compiled, he should win MVP and I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t.”

Throughout the course of the 2021 NFL season, Rodgers ended up completing 68.9 percent of his pass attempts for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. He also picked up 101 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground. Those numbers even came with Rodgers dealing with a broken toe for a good portion of the year.

At 38 years of age, Rodgers is playing some of the best football of his entire career. There are still some questions about his future with the Packers, but after this kind of year, it appears likely that he’ll be back in Green Bay. But, Rodgers also hasn’t ruled out the idea of retiring while he’s still on top of his game.

Blocking out all of the questions about the future, Rodgers absolutely deserves to win the MVP award this year. He once again threw less than five interceptions and scored 40 total touchdowns. There are other candidates who are deserving as well, but Rodgers should be at the top of that list.

Expect to see a lot more debate surrounding Aaron Rodgers and the MVP conversation. At this point in time, however, Rodgers has Sharpe’s vote and many others as well.
