The 2020 NFL season is right around the corner and the Green Bay Packers are still in need of finding another wide receiver. After bringing in Devin Funchess in free agency, the Packers saw their new weapon opt out of the season due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, they need to consider bringing in free agent wideout Dez Bryant.
That’s right, the Packers should take a low-risk gamble on Bryant. While he hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2017 season, this would make perfect sense for both parties involved.
During that 2017 season, Bryant caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns. He received a ton of criticism for a slow year, but still proved that he deserved another opportunity. With a chip on his shoulder now, Bryant would make even more sense for a team needing a wideout.
Aaron Rodgers is entering the final stages of his time with the Packers. The team has only won one Super Bowl with one of the best quarterbacks of all-time.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at why the Packers should take a chance on Dez Bryant for the 2020 season.
