Steelers: 3 burning questions following the 2020 NFL Draft

Was Alex Highsmith taken to be the replacement for Bud Dupree?

The Steelers had one of the best pass-rushing units in 2019, compiling a league-best 54 sacks. One of the reasons why Pittsburgh sat atop the NFL in sacks was in large part due to the breakout season that Dupree had.

While playing on his fifth-year option in 2019, Dupree notched a career-high 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Even though he performed well this past season, the Steelers elected to place the franchise tag on Dupree for the upcoming season.

Also, the Steelers elected to take Highsmith with the No. 102 pick in the draft, putting even more pressure on Dupree to deliver another productive campaign. As he plans to play the 2020 season under the franchise tag, do the Steelers plan on replacing Dupree with Highsmith in 2021?
