4. Big Ben wins Comeback Player of the Year

Ben Roethlisberger has two years remaining on his contract with the Steelers. At 38-years-old, the future Hall of Fame quarterback will be back under center for Pittsburgh in 2020.

After playing in two games last year, Roethlisberger was shut down with a shoulder injury. This was after leading the league in passing yards in 2018 with 5,129 yards. This was the first 5,000-yard season for Roethlisberger in his career. He also led the league in completions and pass attempts in 2018 while leading the Steelers to a 9-6-1 record.

In 2020, Roethlisberger is coming off an injury but that does not mean that he won’t be throwing the ball all over the field. Roethlisberger is already one of the favorites to win this award. At the end of the 2020 season, he could be the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year.

This award was given to Ryan Tannehill in 2019. It is reserved for players who were injured or just had a poor season in the year before.

The Steelers missed Roethlisberger under center in 2019. They won eight games, but it could have been more if he was running the show instead of Mason Rudolph and Devin Hodges. If he remains healthy for 16 games, Roethlisberger could take home this award with a big season.
