3. Two receivers go for 1,000 yards
If Roethlisberger is going to remain healthy and win Comeback Player of the Year, that mean that the ball is going to be in the air often. This means nothing but good things for the receivers on the outside for the Steelers.
Smith-Schuster was a disappointment in 2019. He finished with 42 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns. This is after a second year that featured 111 catches for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns. Smith-Schuster needs to prove this season that he is a top receiver and having Roethlisberger back in the lineup will go a long way.
As for the second 1,000 yard receiver, it could be either James Washington or Diontae Johnson. In his second season, Washington led the Steelers with 7355 yards. He had 44 catches and averaged 16.7 yards per reception. Johnson led the team in catches with 59 and receiving touchdowns with five. They are two promising young receivers that can have breakout seasons in 2020.
If two receivers are going to go over 1,000 yards, Smith-Schuster will have to be one of them. Johnson or Washington can take over the other spot. This is an offense that changes completely with Roethlisberger under center.
