The 2019 season was a strange one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger was lost for the season after Week 1, but the team was carried by their defense. Mason Rudolph and Devin Hodges manned the quarterback duties, there was an incident with Myles Garrett, and James Conner ultimately went down with an injury.
All of this put together makes for a four win season. Not in Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin showed why he is one of the best coaches in football. The Steelers started 8-5 but it came crashing down late.
They lost their last four including an inexcusable loss to the New York Jets. Heading into 2020, the Steelers have higher expectations than a year ago. Roethlisberger is back this season along with Conner.
JuJu Smith-Schuster is expected to take the next step as a No. 1 receiver. And this is just on the offensive side. T.J. Watt will lead an elite from seven that led the NFL in sacks in each of the last three years. Watt is a candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year.
The Steelers have a tough draw in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens but they are expected to compete for a wild card spot. Here are four moves that could still be done to improve the Steelers before Week 1.
