Steelers Legend Doesn’t Hold Back On Kenny Pickett

The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up an impressive victory in Week 7. They went on the road and defeated the Los Angeles Rams 24-17, coming out of the bye week carrying over all of the momenta they built going into it with a victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

While there were still some issues at times with the offense, they did enough to help the team get their fourth win of the season, keeping pace with the Ravens and Cleveland Browns in the AFC North race. Whoever wins that division will have earned it as every team has a record of .500 or better through Week 7.

A big reason why the Steelers were able to defeat the Rams was that their offense didn’t turn the ball over. While prolific numbers escaped them once again, Kenny Pickett was able to come up big when needed most.

He completed 17-of-25 passes for 230 yards, not throwing a touchdown or interception in the game. Pickett did find the endzone, however, scoring from one yard out on a QB sneak in the third quarter after the Steelers’ defense forced a turnover.

The 2022 first-round pick was certainly happy to have Diontae Johnson back in the lineup, as he caught five passes for 79 yards, which was second on the team. Leading the way was Geroge Pickens, who is turning into a star with five receptions for 107 yards.

It was a gutsy performance by Pickett and the Steelers, one that drew rave reviews. One of the people most impressed with the performance is former Pittsburgh franchise quarterback, Terry Bradshaw. The Hall of Famer threw plenty of praise at Pickett for the work he did Sunday afternoon.

“Pickett doesn’t throw for a lot of touchdowns yet. In time he will,” Bradshaw said. “He is the perfect quarterback for this team. Very selfless human being. Great in the clutch, great under pressure.”

Pickett isn’t stuffing the stat sheet with eye-popping numbers like some of his peers around the league. But, he certainly helps in the most important stat, which is wins and the Steelers now have four of them on the season.

With a star-studded defense and a timely productive offense, Pittsburgh looks like a team that is here to stay for the long haul. If the offense ever clicks and starts producing at the level their talent suggests capable, the Steelers will be even tougher to beat on a weekly basis.
