Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 Reasons Why Ryan Fitzpatrick Should Remain the Starter

Send a Message to Jameis Winston

Ever since being drafted No. 1 overall by the Buccaneers, Winston simply has not shown the maturity to be given the starting job back without earning it. Allowing Fitzpatrick to continue starting and sending a message to Winston in the process would not be a bad move for the franchise.

That is not to say that Winston will have to be the backup for the remainder of the year. He could very well come back in Week 6 or 7 if Fitzpatrick slows down.

Winston needs to work his way back into his starting job. If it is simply handed back to him, no message will have been sent. He will continue going about his business as he likes without thinking about what the team might do about those problems he encounters.

If Fitzpatrick slows down and the team starts struggling, Winston can work his way back into his starting job for the remainder of the year.
