Teddy Bridgewater projected to sign with Panthers in free agency

Teddy Bridgewater has become one of the most intriguing names that will be available this offseason in free agency. Following the news that Drew Brees would be returning to the New Orleans Saints, it is expected that Bridgewater will end up finding a new home. That new home could be with the Carolina Panthers.

Pro Football Focus has made their predictions for the upcoming free agency period and they have Bridgewater ending up with the Panthers and first-year head coach Matt Rhule.

With Drew Brees returning, Teddy Bridgewater is leaving, and the reports are that multiple teams are interested in his services as a bridge quarterback. Carolina would be among these teams.

The Panthers need to make a move at the quarterback position. Fans seem to want Cam Newton back for another season in 2020, but his injury history and lack of consistent production has become a bit of an issue. Bridgewater could give them an answer at quarterback.

Last season in the nine games he played with the Saints, Bridgewater ended up completing 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 1,384 yards, nine touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He showed that he is a capable NFL starter.

Rhule will need a guy that he can grow with and build around. At 27 years old, the Panthers would be more than able to build around Bridgewater.

Expect to hear about quite a few teams showing interest in signing Bridgewater. However, the Panthers are the best fit and him ending up in Carolina makes too much sense.
