Titans Trade For Bears’ Justin Fields In Blockbuster Proposal

It’s time for a change under center for the Tennessee Titans. Could a blockbuster trade for Chicago Bears’ quarterback Justin Fields be in the cards?

Ryan Tannehill was a revelation for the Titans when he took the reins at quarterback back in 2019, making the Pro Bowl and winning Comeback Player of the Year en route to leading Tennessee all the way to the AFC Championship Game. He was also very impressive in 2020, throwing 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

However, since then, Tannehill has gradually declined, and this season, he has totaled just two touchdowns and six picks through six games and left Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to an ankle injury. He was replaced by second-year quarterback Malik Willis, who went 4-for-5 with 74 yards in his stead.

It’s about time the Titans start thinking about their future, as the 35-year-old Tannehill will be a free agent during the offseason, and Willis may not be exactly what the team is looking for in a starter.

How about a blockbuster trade for Fields?

Fields exited the Bears’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday as a result of a dislocated thumb, and he is expected to be sidelined for the next several weeks. With Chicago being just 1-5, the Bears could very well tank for a chance to take USC quarterback Caleb Williams in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Could that open up Fields as a trade candidate?

Christopher Kline of FanSided thinks it’s a possibility.

If so, the Titans could swoop in and offer the Bears a hefty package that includes a 2024 first-round draft pick, a 2024 third-rounder and a 2025 second-rounder. This could certainly be enough to entice the Bears to make a deal, especially considering that Tennessee’s first-round pick could be a good one (the Titans are currently 2-4).

Justin Fields appeared to be turning a corner before the injury, as he totaled eight touchdown passes between Weeks 4 and 5. However, that type of return may be too tempting for Chicago to ignore, particularly if it gets the chance to draft a quarterback like Williams or maybe North Carolina’s Drake Maye in the spring.
