Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is having a season for the ages. He has already broken several franchise and NFL records through Week 10 and has a few more in his sights for the second half of the season.

Not only has Stroud set personal records, but he has the Texans back on the path to relevancy. After three abysmal seasons with four different head coaches, the franchise looks to be on the right track with building blocks on each side of the ball and a great head coach in DeMeco Ryans.

Stroud’s performance has a lot of people now paying attention to him and the Texans for the first time in a long time, at least for good reasons. Houston was in plenty of headlines the last few years, but rarely for anything positive.

In Week 10, Stroud added another feather in his cap, going toe to toe with Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. He had another excellent game, throwing for 356 yards with one touchdown and one interception, adding a rushing touchdown as well in a 30-27 victory.

That was a win that opened a lot of people’s eyes. One of those people is Skip Bayless. On a segment of UNDISPUTED on FS1, he made a bold comparison for Stroud, likening him to Kansas City Chiefs star, Patrick Mahomes.

That is some high praise for Stroud from Bayless, and he does deserve the recognition. No matter the situation or play call, he is putting the ball where it needs to be and producing at a high level. He has helped turn around a downtrodden franchise immediately upon his arrival, blowing away all expectations that were placed on him and the team.

Bayless isn’t the first person who has been proven wrong by Stroud’s performance, as not many people thought he would be better than No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young would be. The Texans have to be happy about that, as their future looks as bright as ever with the Ohio State product leading the way.
