The one risky move the Packers must make this offseason

The Packers Should Take A Chance On Dez Bryant

Most articles surrounding a risk that the Packers should take have focused on wide receivers. Green Bay did add Devin Funchess in free agency, but he isn’t expected to move the needle a lot. Turning to the free agency market could be an option if Brian Gutekunst wants to make a move.

Recently, names like Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown have been thrown around. However, Dez Bryant is the name that the Packers should actually consider targeting.

Before you shut this idea down, there are a few reasons that would make this idea make sense.

First and foremost, Bryant does not come with the off-the-field issues of Brown or Gordon. Yes, he is known for being a character on the sidelines at times. But, he does not have legal issues or suspension problems in his past.

Second, Bryant is simply looking for an opportunity to get back into the NFL. He isn’t going to cost much and would come back looking to prove himself. On a one-year deal, the Packers would have zero chance to lose anything out of the move.

Davante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the game. No one will debate that statement. Green Bay needs a legitimate No. 2 option behind him.

Bryant may not be able to come in and be an impact player anymore, but he certainly hasn’t looked bad in workout videos. Green Bay should absolutely consider this option. It won’t fix their offense by itself, but it could potentially help.

Don’t be surprised if the Packers have no interest in making a move. But, if they do, Bryant would be well worth the risk.
