This Packers-Browns trade sends Odell Beckham Jr. to Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers were once again one win away from the Super Bowl, but came up short against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many believe that they need to focus on bringing in another big-time weapon for Aaron Rodgers this offseason. Could dealing with the Cleveland Browns for Odell Beckham Jr. be in the cards for them?

Over the last couple of years, the Packers have been rumored to be a potential landing spot for Beckham. Nothing has ever materialized from those rumors, but they certainly would make sense.

Can you imagine an offense featuring Rodgers, Beckham, and Davante Adams? The passing game would be nearly impossible to stop. If Green Bay can keep having a consistent rushing attack, their offense could very well be enough to power them to the big game.

Beckham is coming off of a season that ended prematurely due to a torn ACL. He played in seven games, catching 23 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers weren’t amazing even in the games he did play.

At 28 years old, the Browns have simply not seen enough to keep Beckham around. If they can get something of value for him, they should make a move. Jarvis Landry is their clear No. 1 wide receiver and they have young talent in Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones to help replace him.

What would it take to land Odell Beckham Jr. with the Packers? Quite simply, a 2021 second-round pick could do the trick.

With this trade, the Browns would be receiving another quality draft pick that they could use to build more young talent to their core. For the Packers, they would be taking a gamble on Beckham’s health, but it would be a risk worth taking.

Rodgers is not getting any younger and the Packers’ window could close at any time. Many believe that their window may already be closed. Aaron Jones, Kevin King, and Corey Linsley are all key players for Green Bay who could leave this offseason in free agency.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what this offseason has in store. Brian Gutekunst will be tasked with finding a way to get the Packers over the hump. The Browns will be looking to make moves that can help them get over the hump as well.

It may not end up happening, but the two sides coming together on an Odell Beckham Jr. trade would make a ton of sense. Now, we have to wait and see what the Packers and Browns decide to do.
