This Packers-Eagles trade would send Zach Ertz to Green Bay

Why The Deal Makes Sense For The Eagles

As for the Eagles, moving on from a longtime star would be a tough move to make. Zach Ertz has been a fan favorite for a very long time. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and trading him for good value should be a focus.

Being able to snag a second-round pick and a young tight end in Jace Sternberger would be intriguing for the Eagles.

With Dallas Goedert still on the roster and being more than capable of being a No. 1 tight end, the Eagles could still run a two tight end set with Sternberger. Obviously, Goedert is dealing with injury issues, but long-term they would be just fine.

An extra second-round pick could bring in a talented young player on either side of the ball. If the Eagles don’t want to pay Ertz, they need to bring in assets that can help them replace him. This deal does just that.
