This Packers-Rams Trade Sends Allen Robinson To Green Bay

All of the focus this offseason for the Green Bay Packers has been on their quarterback situation. The team looks like they are ready to move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers and start the Jordan Love era.

Regardless of who is starting at quarterback for Green Bay in 2023, the fact remains that they need some more weapons offensively. The Packers made a risky decision during the 2022 offseason, trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and letting Marquez Valdes-Scantling leave in free agency.

They attempted to fill the voids with rookies, selecting Christian Watson in the second round and Romeo Doubs in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. They showed flashes, but replacing the production of an All-Pro and an excellent deep threat is virtually impossible.

This offseason, the Packers should do everything in their power to bring in some reinforcements at wide receiver. While the options in free agency may be lacking, some veterans could hit the trade market. One player that should pique the interest of the Packers is Allen Robinson.

Robinson was a big signing of the Los Angeles Rams last year as they sought a running partner for Cooper Kupp. The signing did not pan out as Robinson was one of the biggest flops of the 2022 offseason. Seeking a remodel of their roster, Robinson is someone that could be on the move.

Los Angeles already traded cornerback Jalen Ramsey and they’re likely not done making moves. The team would love to move on from Robinson and has permitted him to seek a trade. It would be worthwhile for the Packers to take a flier on the veteran hoping for a bounceback after two lackluster seasons.

What could it take to acquire him? The price likely won’t be expensive, especially if the Rams don’t cover any of his salary. A suggested trade over at Bleacher Report was a seventh-round from Green Bay heading to Los Angeles.

Name-wise, that is a shocking trade proposal. But, given his lack of production and big salary, the Rams would be lucky to get anything in return for him. Given the state of their wide receiver depth chart, Robinson is worth a late Day 3 draft pick.
