This Packers-Texans trade would give Aaron Rodgers much-needed firepower

The Trade

Packers Receive: WR Kenny Stills

Texans Receive: 2021 Fifth-Round Pick

Obviously, this would not be viewed as a blockbuster deal by anyone in the business. Stills is not a star wide receiver and he isn’t going to break the bank for a team like the Packers to acquire should they choose to do so.

While it may not be a blockbuster move, it makes perfect sense for both the Packers and Texans.

On Green Bay’s side of things, the addition of Stills would give them a deep threat and potential slot option. His speed would fit nicely into Matt LaFleur’s system. Stills could play a very similar role to the one that Randall Cobb had with the Packers for years.

As for the Texans, they are not going to use Stills very much. They have Will Fuller, Cobb, and Brandin Cooks ahead of him. There is no reason not to add a mid-round draft pick for a player that doesn’t hold a ton of value for them.

Both the Packers and Texans would get better with this move. Green Bay has to add more weapons for Aaron Rodgers and Bill O’Brien loves stacking up on draft assets. It’s the definition of a win-win scenario for both franchises.

It seems likely that Still will be available for teams who need a wideout. Assuming that is the case, the Packers should be all over it.

Brian Gutekunst could end the Packers’ offseason on a very positive note with this move. O’Brien would also be very happy with this move for the Texans. Get it done, guys!
