With the “dead period” of the NFL offseason officially upon us, the big news around the league has dried up. However, there are teams looking to make big moves still to improve their Super Bowl chances and two teams to watch could be the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings. One name that has been mentioned in a ton of trade rumors in recent weeks is star running back Dalvin Cook.

Cook is expected to either be traded or released by the Vikings. That isn’t a guarantee at this point in time, but everything is trending in that direction.

In a recent article shared by CBS Sports, Cook’s landing spots appear to be plentiful if he is indeed moved. One intriguing team on the list was the Ravens.

Why would the Ravens be a good fit? Quite simply, they’re going all-in to pursue a championship. They re-signed quarterback Lamar Jackson to a massive extension this offseason and also went out and signed star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency.

The only thing missing on their offense is a legitimate star running back.

Cook would fit the bill for Baltimore, but finding a trade with the Vikings may not be super easy. Minnesota isn’t going to give him away, but they don’t have financial room to be too stubborn.

A potential trade could look something like a 2024 third-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick heading to the Vikings. That would be well worth the cost for the Ravens. Adding a star like Cook would take their offense to the next level.

During the 2022 season with the Vikings, Cook ended up carrying the football 264 times for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 39 passes for 295 yards and another two scores.

While this trade may not end up being a possibility, the idea makes perfect sense. Both the Vikings and Ravens would be getting what they need and Dalvin Cook would still be on a contender. This could be something to keep an eye on.
