4-Game Winning Streak
After the Philadelphia Eagles hit their darkest moment against the Miami Dolphins, they hit their best stretch of football for the 2019-20 season. With their season on the line in terms of playoff position and still a game behind the Dallas Cowboys for top honors in the NFC East, they had to do something.
With four games left on their schedule, it was do-or-die for the Eagles. First up, was the New York Giants. While the Giants were struggling themselves, this was the return of Eli Manning. And if history was set to run its course, no game between the Giants and Eagles are ever easy. With an overtime win, the Eagles remained a game behind the Cowboys.
The flowing week, the Eagles traveled to take on the Washington Redskins with their playoff hope’s still alive. They walked away victorious and tied with the Cowboys for first place in the division with a showdown the following week looming. Two games in against division rivals and Doug Pederson had his team playing well.
At home against the Cowboys, it was a playoff-like atmosphere. Both teams needed this game and they played as if it was the Super Bowl. The Eagles defense was relentless against a top 5 offense and never took their foot off the gas. After the victory, the Eagles held a one-game lead in the division with one left.
With one game left, all the Eagles had to do was beat the Giants for the second time in four weeks. They held their own destiny in their hands. If they win, they’re in as champs. If they lose and the Cowboys beat the Redskins, the Cowboys are champs and will advance to the playoffs. Eagles came out victorious and won the division.
