Top 3 Biggest Achievements From The Philadelphia Eagles 2019 Season

The Ground Game

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The 2019 season of the Philadelphia Eagles can be summed up in one word–injuries. It didn’t matter what position, the Eagles had an issue keeping players on the field. While wide receiver was their biggest hurdle, their running back situation would have garnered more attention if not for Miles Sanders and late bloomer Boston Scott.

For the year, the Eagles finished the season ranked 11th in rushing yards with 1939 yards but in-between those stellar numbers, the season was almost lost. With the addition of Jordan Howard, he was in place to lead the attack with Sanders and Darren Sproles doing cleanup duty. But Sproles was lost then Howard missed time which gave the rookie Sanders a chance to make a name for himself.

And that he did with 818 yards and three touchdowns. But then the Eagles turned it up another gear down the stretch when Scott got his chance. Although, not as acclaimed as Sanders, Scott would carry the ball 61 times for 245 yards and five touchdowns as the Eagles clawed their way to the playoffs. What should have been a down season with injuries to the O-Line and receivers, the backfield proved to be a bright spot.
