4. WR Gabe Davis, Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills had a tougher-than-anticipated game against the Miami Dolphins during Super Wild Card Weekend. Many people thought the Bills would steamroll the undermanned Dolphins, who were starting third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson. That was not the case as Miami gave Buffalo everything it could handle.
Josh Allen turning the ball over three times certainly complicated things, but he did manage to still put up some gaudy counting stats. One of the beneficiaries of that was Gabe Davis, who continued his torrid pace of postseason production.
Against the Dolphins, Davis caught six passes for 113 yards and one touchdown, giving him 314 yards and four touchdowns in his last two postseason outings. He will look to keep production going in a highly anticipated matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this upcoming weekend.
3. QB Daniel Jones, New York Giants
There may not have been another player entering Super Wild Card Weekend that had as much pressure on them as Daniel Jones. His fifth-year option was declined before the season as the new regime of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll wanted to see what they had in Jones.
The No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has faced a ton of criticism and naysayers, but those doubters have been left very quiet after his playoff debut. Jones saved his best for Super Wild Card Weekend, leading the Giants to a 31-24 upset win over the Vikings.
Jones got the job done with his arm and legs as the Minnesota defense had no answer for him. He completed 24-of-35 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns, adding a game-high 78 yards on the ground. It was a record-setting performance as no player has reached those plateaus in postseason history.
A special shoutout to his teammates, wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson. Hodgins caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, earning a starting spot after being claimed off waivers in November. Jackson shutdown superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson, lining up against in shadow coverage for 85 percent of his snaps.
