The Minnesota Vikings drafted Dalvin Cook in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft and since then, he’s become their feature back. Cook battled injuries during his first two seasons but most recently in 2019, he was considered a top running back throughout the league.
Since coming off career highs in nearly every statistical category, Cook has made it well known that he would like a new contract before entering the final season on his rookie deal.
Over the years, it’s been well ensured by front offices throughout that teams despise paying running backs because they break down significantly faster than other highly prioritized positions. Unfortunately for Cook’s sake of things, he’s no different.
