Gary Kubiak Is Going To Take This Offense Up A Notch

Kevin Stefanski earned a head coaching job being the Vikings offensive coordinator. Gary Kubiak will go from an offensive advisor to the offensive coordinator. The offense is going to take a step up in the 2020 season.

It’s really not a knock on Stefanski, it’s just admitting that nobody does it better than Kubiak. Kubiak operates an offense much like Mike Shanahan did and Kyle Shanahan does. He got his start in Denver and he’s perfected this offensive philosophy to a level that not even Kyle Shanahan can really reach.

The calling card of a Kubiak offense is that everything is built off the run game, especially the play-action shots down the field. He’s responsible for a lot of random running backs having the best years of their careers. He’s responsible for Joe Flacco having the best regular season of his career.

Kubiak is going to make Dalvin Cook look unstoppable and Alexander Mattison like a star. He’s going to work wonders with Kirk Cousins. The offense is going to have so much rhyme and reason and the rhythm is going to be masterful. Kubiak has done it in Denver twice. He’s done it in Houston and Baltimore as well. This is just what Kubiak does. He works with what he has and he makes his players the very best version of themselves.

While the offense won’t be drastically different, Kubiak will pull all the right strings. It will allow Cousins to make this season the masterpiece of his career. It will take a decent Vikings offense to a completely new level. The Vikings are about to be one to have one of the most efficient offensive units in the NFL.

The bottom line, or the take home point here is that the Vikings were a good team in 2019 that is going to take a step up in the 2020 season. The biggest reason for the Vikings’ climb up to being an elite NFC contender is the growth they should see on offense.

All of this combined with the reasonable doubts surrounding their division foes, should add up to the Vikings winning the NFC North.
