Second Quarter of Season

Week 5: at Seattle Seahawks

This was the game that the Vikings were looking ahead to. This is a matchup between the two wild card teams from last season. It could be a game that proves to mean a lot once the divisions begin rounding themselves out. Seattle is as good of a home team as there is. Russell Wilson knows how to win, especially in close games. He will do it once again in what turns out to be a defensive struggle.

Seahawks 20, Vikings 17 (3-2)

Week 6: vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have been an enigma for years now. Since their complete implosion in the Super Bowl, they have not seemed right. The Falcons will do their fair share of scoring but will they be able to stop anyone? This could be a big game for Cousins and his receivers.

Vikings 34, Falcons 27 (4-2)

Week 7: BYE

Week 8: at Green Bay Packers

Minnesota will waste no time coming out of the bye week. After a Week 1 victory, the Vikings will have a chance to really get a leg up on the Packers. Despite the game being at Lambeau, the Vikings will flex their muscles. The Packers lack offensive weapons at wide receiver after Davante Adams and this could haunt them all season. This is the Vikings’ year in the NFC North.

Vikings 31, Packers 23 (5-2)

Week 9: vs. Detroit Lions

The Vikings always have a game in their schedule that they lose when they shouldn’t. This will not be that game. The Lions will be better immediately just because Matthew Stafford will be back under center, but it will not turn them into a playoff contender. Their offense will be decent but the defense will continue to struggle.

Vikings 35, Lions 17 (6-2)
